The Trust held an extensive exhibition of over 80 works by
Barbara Rae CBE RA
The Exhibition was held at The MacLaurin Art Gallery, set within the magnificent grounds of Rozelle Park in Ayr, from
22 June to 8 September 2024.
The show featured early Scottish works as well as many from Barbara Rae’s previous Spanish, Irish, and Lammermuir series.
TIMES AND PLACES…
Held at The MacLaurin Gallery, Times and Places delves into how Rae has perceived and interpreted the land throughout her career, often revisiting specific locations frequently to view and capture the ever-evolving environment.
Not only do we witness the gradual evolution of her work but also how Rae continues to record the memory of the landscape, how they themselves are the witnesses to human presence and the changes over time.
Walk Through the Galleries..
We are very excited to be working with The Maclaurin Trust, a Scottish Charity which runs the gallery.
Set within the magnificent grounds of Rozelle Park in Ayr, the gallery is run by The Maclaurin Trust, a Scottish Charity who’s aim is to support artists at Local, National and International levels at all stages in their careers. This is achieved by facilitating a diverse programme of exhibitions.
The Trust's permanent collection is now one of the best displays of 20th and 21st century art in the country.
The Gallery has full disabled access, from a clearly marked parking space right outside the entrance arch, to smooth access to all five galleries, either across the courtyard or through the galleries themselves to the Tearoom and disabled toilet. If needed we also have a wheelchair which a member of staff will be pleased to get for you.
